I’ve just been down to Wan Chai for a walk, but couldn’t find Suzie Wong. In fact, I couldn’t find anyone much at all. Typhoon Nuri has kept everyone holed up at home. Most shops are boarded up, and I saw one hoarding had been blown down. But I’m increasingly of the they that this typhoon thing is a bit of a con. It has been at warning stage 8 all day. It wasn’t until they raised it to 9 that I went outside, mainly because I was tired of being stuck inside for so long. And there was almost no breeze at all But I think that it is sheltered here behind the hill, or maybe the worst is yet to come.
