Day #8, and the last day on the road, was around 600km from Kalgoorlie to Perth, following the Great Eastern Highway and the goldfields water pipeline that brings fresh water all the way from Perth. We passed Coolgardie, Southern Cross, Merredin and Northam, arriving late afternoon back in Perth after finally crossing the country. Total distance driven (including detours, getting lost, u-turns, meandering around towns on the way) – 3,938.7km.
