Spring has arrived in Kings Park in Perth and the wildflowers are out. Kangaroo paw flowers with their bright red stalks are most eye-catching, but look carefully and you can see other flowers like spider orchids.

Tsutsuji
Here’s a post that my mum will like. Now that the sakura have finished (at least in Tokyo), the next springtime floral onslaught is tsutsuji – azaleas.
Canola in Hibiya Park
I’m uploading too many lunchtime photos from Hibiya Park but today the canola is out, providing a yellow contrast to the sakura.

The weeping cherry tree at Himuro Shrine, Nara, is “mankai” – fully open today.

Spring has come early? The plum blossom is blooming, the crowds are building, and I’m off for a walk around some World Heritage sites.
Spring is coming
This is one of the first plum trees to bloom in Hibiya Park. Unusually warm weather in Tokyo is probably speeding them up this year. It got to 23C on Saturday!
